Wales coach Gatland voices his disappointment after Welsh Rugby Union block Howley move

Warren Gatland was speaking to the cameras at Wales' training base on Tuesday. He was talking about Rob Howley, who he wanted to re-appoint to Wales set-up. Howleys was banned for 18 months for breaching betting rules when still Wales attack coach in 2019.

Gatland has named his Wales squad for the Six Nations starting next month. Ken Owens is the captain. Alex King is attack coach. The team opens against Ireland in Cardiff on February 4th. Gatland won a Six- Nations grand slam in 2007. He succeeded Wayne Pivac. Pvac won just three games from 12. Gatlands wants to win the World Cup later this year. His team's supporters are hopeful of him producing a repeat trick. They are hoping he can revive their fortunes. It wasn't believable 15 years ago. Wales won the tournament in 2002.
