Warriors vs Kings Game 2 Prediction, Best Bets, and Odds

In the franchise’s first playoff game since 2006, the Sacramento Kings could have easily been too full of nerves to put in their best performance against the Golden State Warriors in Saturday’s series opener.

Instead, after trailing by ten points late in the third quarter, Sacramento rallied to pull out a thrilling 126-123 win over the reigning NBA champions.

It could have not been a better way to end the franchise’s playoff drought, and it gives them an early advantage that they can increase with a Game 2 win on Monday night (10:00 pm ET, TNT).

Will Stephen Curry and sixth-seeded Golden State respond to even up the series heading back to the Bay Area? Or will it be another win and a 2-0 lead for the #3 seed? Read on for our Warriors vs Kings prediction, as well as our best bets for Monday’s matchup.

Will the Experienced Warriors Rise to the Occasion in Game 2?

Given Golden State’s level of experience and success at this stage of the season, there won’t be many people writing them off even after falling behind in this series.

After all, in last year’s NBA Finals, they lost the first game at home against the Boston Celtics and then fell behind 2-1 on the road, only to roar back and win three straight to claim the title.

That said, no one should expect this to automatically be the point where the Dubs pick it up and blow the Kings away from here.

Sure, the Kings had the worst home record among the teams that finished in the top four in the East and West, going 23-18 SU (and 18-22-1 ATS).

But at some point, the eye test overrides the other stuff, and Sacramento passes the eye test. And The Kings have certainly earned their high seed, as they and the Los Angeles Clippers are the only two Western Conference teams to have a winning record both at home and on the road.

All the same, if you expect the Warriors to bounce back, their atrocious road record this season is unlikely to dissuade you from doing so, because you know what they are capable of and what Curry and co. have done at this time of year.

Golden State Warriors vs Sacramento Kings Prediction and Best Bets

Prediction for Warriors vs Kings: Kings to win

Best Bets for Warriors vs Kings: Kings to cover (Best Value: +1.5 @ BetMGM) & Kings team total over 119.5 (Best Value: Caesars Sportsbook)

Maybe it’s the thrill of seeing some new blood tasting playoff success. Maybe it’s Maybelline (did I just age myself there?).

But I’m rolling with the Kings to take a 2-0 lead on Monday night. They took a big blow from the Warriors in Game 1 and didn’t flinch, and it is clear that they aren’t here to just soak up the experience.

Best Player Prop Bets for Warriors vs Kings

  • Domantas Sabonis over 18.5 points (Best Value: BetMGM)
  • Sabonis over 32.5 points + rebounds (Best Value: BetMGM)
  • Sabonis over 39.5 points + rebounds + assists (Best Value: Caesars Sportsbook)

In Game 1, Sabonis was only 5 of 17 (29.4%) from the field and scored just 12 points in Game 1.

A repeat performance is unlikely to occur in Game 2, as he has not shot below 50% in consecutive games this season.

When he has shot below 50% in a game this season, he has averaged 19.6 points per game, 12.4 rebounds per game, and 6.8 assists per game.

In the last two instances, he has followed a subpar shooting performance with a triple-double. You don’t have to add that one to the bunch, but the value there–it’s at +650 at FanDuel at the time of writing–is too good to not throw a few bucks on just for some added action.
