ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’ll lean toward the Phillies in this one. Sanchez had a shaky start versus Kansas City back on August 5 (5.0 innings; six earned) but he was able to bounce back with a win over the Twins on 6.0 innings and two earned in his last appearance. I like Sanchez to at least flirt with a quality outing here. Irvin should do fairly well also; he’s coming off two earned in 6.2 frames versus Oakland. On Friday Philly got a rough start from Michael Lorenzen, who finished with 3.1 innings and six earned runs. Aside from the one bad inning the Phillies did well on both sides overall, though. I like Philadelphia to even it up here.
