Week 11: Group of Five Best Bets

Last week I went 2-3 on Group of Five best bets. My season-long record is 29-26. I'm running out of weeks to secure a perfect 5-0 record.

UAB is a 6-point favorite against North Texas. UAB has a better record than its record suggests. NorthTexas is ranked in the bottom half of C-USA in rushing defense.

New Mexico has the second-worst scoring offense in the Mountain West, averaging just 16 points per game. Air Force leads the league in scoring defense (15.7) and rushing offense (11.5). I expect this game to be low-scoring, with Air force winning 28-3.

JMU-ODU is a rivalry game. Old Dominion's offense is without star tight end Zack Kuntz for the rest of the season. JMU's starting quarterback Todd Centeio is not 100% and the team has scored 22 points in two games since he was injured.

Marshall is 5-4, 2-3 in the Sun Belt and leads the league in scoring defense. App State is 1-2 on the road this year, with a loss to Texas State and a defeat to Coastal Carolina. Marshall is at home and I think it makes enough happen on offense to win.

UCF is 7-2 and the underdog in the Group of Five game against Tulane. It's the first time Tulaines will host a ranked team since 1949. Bennett Conlin is a college football contributor for HERO Sports.
