Wells Fargo Championship odds 2023: Is it time to pounce on this JT number?

"Once [insert player] gets above 20-1 odds, he's an auto-bet" is a phrase often uttered by golf bettors. If there was ever a time to put their money where their mouths are, it'd be this week at the Wells Fargo Championship.

That's because Justin Thomas, a man with 15 PGA Tour victories to his name, has ballooned to 22-1 to win at Quail Hollow, site of the first of his two PGA Championship wins in 2017. It's partially due to the quality of the field, but mainly because JT has been riding the struggle bus of late, having missed the cut at the Masters and then barely cracking the top 25 at the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town.

After two much-needed weeks off, Thomas returns to action this week in Charlotte, where he's the 10th(!!) name on the odds board behind a group that includes Rory McIlroy at +750, Patrick Cantlay at 12-1, Mexico Open winner Tony Finau at 14-1 and Jordan Spieth at 18-1 (all odds courtesy of DraftKings). 

Thomas is joined at 20-1 or higher by Collin Morikawa, Viktor Hovland, Matt Fitzpatrick and Max Homa, who won the Wells Fargo at Quail Hollow in 2019 and then won the event again in 2022 at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm.
