What we learned: With no value, Occult wins Busanda
The Busanda Stakes at Aqueduct was won by maiden winner Occult. She was the 7-5 favorite. The other two favorites were Affirmative Lady and Gambling Girl. Occults had a speed figure edge over them. She won the race by 3 3/4 lengths. G gambling Girl came second and Affirming Lady came third. Sweetest Princess came fourth. They finished the nine furlongs in 1:54.78. Hoosier Philly earned an 81 last time out when she won Golden Rod Stake (G2). The current crop of 3-year-old fillies is not fast on speed figures.
