Where Notre Dame ranks in updated national championship odds

Notre Dame ranks eighth in College Football Playoff national championship odds after Week 2’s action, according to four major sports books.

FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesar’s Sportsbook and PointsBet gave the Fighting Irish the eighth-best odds to win the national title, at +2200, +2200, +2000 and +2500, respectively. The Irish landed behind Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Texas, Florida State, USC and Penn State. Alabama, Oregon, LSU, Washington and Tennessee are the next in line.

In its pursuit of a national championship, the Irish will have to beat at least one of those seven teams ahead of them to reach the College Football Playoff. Notre Dame plays Ohio State on Sept. 23 and USC on Oct. 14.
