Women’s Euros success and betting on it increases popularity of women’s football
The women's European Championships in England were a success. The team won the tournament. There were record 1.5 million football bets placed. England is now the European Champions. They are one of the favourites for the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand next year. It is expected that the success on the pitch under Sarina Wiegman will only be the beginning for England and for women’s football. The Three Lions are now European champions. Gareth Southgate guided England to the semi-finals at the 2018 Men”s World cup and then to a defeat in the final at Wembley.
