Yankees call up former SF Giants prospect who was part of Evan Longoria trade
Matt Krook was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the fourth round of the 2016 MLB draft. He was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays in 2017 as part of a package for Evan Longoria. Krooks played at the University of Oregon before undergoing Tommy John surgery. The Yankees signed him off waivers in 2020. He has been promoted to their taxi squad on Tuesday. His walk rate has improved since his first year in college. In 2021, he recorded a 2.89 ERA between Double-A and Triple-a affiliates. For the past five seasons, Longraider has played for the Giants.
