York Day Two ITV Racing Tips 1-2-3 Selections On Thursday

1:50pm Sky Bet Lowther Stakes Group 2 6f ITV

SportsLens 1-2-3 York Day Two ITV Racing Tips: CHERRY BLOSSOM is our first selection on Thursday and gets the nod from us in what looks to be a very hot race to start the day off.

Aidan O’Brien’s two-year-old looked incredible on her second start where she hacked up at the Curragh earlier this month, destroying a fairly big field. She was turned over on debut at Naas, but the step up to 6f looked to suit perfectly.

This filly cost a lot of money, €360,000 to be exact so there is a lot of promise for who looks to be an exciting prospect from the Ballydoyle yard. Ryan Moore partners up again, and has what it takes to make all here.

Relief Rally has only lost once in her four career starts and is a big danger. Flora Of Bermuda for Oisin Murphy and Andrew Balding also looks impressive and the three at the top of the market will be sure to run big a race.

  • CHERRY BLOSSOM
  • RELIEF RALLY
  • FLORA OF BERMUDA

2:25pm Goffs UK Harry Beeby Premier Yearling Stakes Handicap 6f ITV

SportsLens 1-2-3 York Day Two ITV Racing Tips: PERSICA makes a lot of appeal here for the Richard Hannon stable under Sean Levey.

This colt looked impressive last time out, bouncing back from a poor debut and this yard has a fine record in this race. Hannon has won this race five times in the last seven years and has a great chance of more success considering he fields four runners.

Persica was disappointing when over 15 lengths back to the winner at Leicester first time out, but looked an entirely different horse when last seen at Salisbury. This colt is drawn well, and can go well for top yard.

Dragon Leader for Ryan Moore and Clive Cox is unbeaten in his first two career starts, winning well both times at Salisbury and should run a good race with top jockey booked. Dapperling also has some eye-catching placed form this summer and is one to consider.

  • PERSICA
  • DRAGON LEADER
  • DAPPERLING

3:00pm Clipper Stakes Heritage Handicap 1m ITV

SportsLens 1-2-3 York Day Two ITV Racing Tips: THE GATEKEEPER is a solid price in this big field handicap and Charlie Johnston’s gelding can go well after some impressive efforts so far this season.

He runs five horses in the race and William Buick is aboard this one in particular. Won twice over 7f earlier on in the season scoring at Newcastle and Newmarket and has appreciated stepping up to 1m so far.

The Gatekeeper was second when last seen at Goodwood in the Golden Mile when appearing to be off the pace. The four-year-old recovered well from the back of the pack to storm home to finish as runner-up.

Northern Express is one that warrants respect given his strong form at York meanwhile Orbaan is an older horse in the race who has won well at the Knavesmire before and is on the shortlist.

  • THE GATEKEEPER
  • NORTHERN EXPRESS
  • ORBAAN

3:35pm Pertemps Network Yorkshire Oaks (British Champions Series Race) Group 1 1m4f ITV

SportsLens 1-2-3 York Day Two ITV Racing Tips: FREE WIND is our selection in the feature race of the day for John and Thady Gosden. The yard is having a top season so far and we know Frankie Dettori will be eager to get this mare back to winning ways.

The daughter of Galileo can be forgiven for her poor run last time out at Goodwood in the Langtry Stakes with conditions very tricky on the day.

However, the five-year-old enjoys York having won the Middleton Stakes here in May and has every chance of bouncing back in a hot race with plenty of chances. The Gosdens have trained the winner of this race four times before and their relationship with Dettori couldn’t be going better at the minute.

Frankie has won two huge races recently for this yard with Inrpiral over in France and Mostahdaf in the Juddmonte earlier this week so can produce the goods again.

Savethelastdance and Al Husn were both Group 1 winners in their last races, so are worth considering too.

  • FREE WIND
  • SAVETHELASTDANCE
  • AL HUSN

4:10pm British EBF and Sir Henry Cecil Galtres Stakes Listed 1m4f ITV

SportsLens 1-2-3 York Day Two ITV Racing Tips: THERE’S THE DOOR is our final selection to keep up her good form this season. She landed a handicap at Doncaster in between two solid runner-up efforts in April and got back to winning ways once again when seen last at Goodwood.

It was a competitive handicap that day when seen last, and she may still have some improvement in her.

Her run at Longchamp back in June can be forgiven after things just didn’t go to plan that day. However, she is ground versatile and won on good-to-firm as a two-year-old.

Lightly raced three-year-old Sea Theme is the favourite, and won last time out but lacks experience in bigger fields. Spring Fever for Frankie Dettori and the Gosdens is also an interesting runner with a couple of decent wins under her belt –  the Italian takes the reins for the first time.
