York Ebor runners and riders

LIVE YOUR DREAM

Jockey: Oisin Murphy
Trainer: Saeed bin Suroor

DREAM on. Solid stayer who ran well at Royal Ascot before a convincing win over this trip at Newmarket. That’s pushed him further up the weights so a place is probably the best he can hope for.

ENEMY

Jockey: Christian Howarth
Trainer: Ian Williams

ENEMY fire. Has been held in Group contests and drops back into a handicap from a 3lb lower mark than his Saudi second in Feb. Stays but has struggled for a while.

SCRIPTWRITER

Jockey: Clifford Lee
Trainer: Milton Harris

OFF Script. Better known as a hurdler, close second in the Group 3 Silver Cup here last time and stays well. Has talent but little high in the weights.

CEMHAAN

Jockey: Hollie Doyle
Trainer: George Baker

HAAN can’t. Last seen running a good third at Royal Ascot when this trip suited. Ground fine but a hefty 11lb higher than his last win.

TASHKHAN

Jockey: Ben Robinson
Trainer: Brian Ellison

CARRY Khan. Third in Silver Cup here in July before a poor effort in the Goodwood Cup. Has lots of stamina and handles any ground. Tall order off this mark.

YASHIN

Jockey: Shane Foley
Trainer: Jessica Harrington

YASHIN no keeper. Group 3 winner over this trip but didn’t fire at The Curragh last time. Yard respected but a bit high in the weights so will need a step forward.

OCEAN WIND

Jockey: Frederick Larson
Trainer: Roger Teal

WEAK Wind. Hasn’t won for almost three years but showed promise in a Sandown Listed contest before a poor effort at Goodwood. This track will suit but he needs to find his very best.

SUNCHART

Jockey: Oisin Orr
Trainer: Roger Teal

SUN down. Sole win at maiden level in 2019 and has shown best over shorter distances. Struggled at Naas last time and hard to fancy in this company.

ABSURDE

Jockey: Frankie Dettori
Trainer: Willie Mullins

AB fab. Hasn’t been with Willie Mullins long and was a close second in a Royal Ascot handicap over this trip on only Flat start for the yard. Is fit from hurdling and has Frankie on board so can’t be ignored despite his rising mark.

JACKINFBAR

Jockey: William Buick
Trainer: Willie Mullins

HIGH Bar. Was a Group 3 winner earlier in his career before a three-year absence and switch from Harry Dunlop to Willie Mullins. Has shown promise in two starts for the yard and this longer trip should help.

GET SHIRTY

Jockey: Daniel Tudhope
Trainer: David O'Meara

GET out. Has dropped to last winning mark and won at Royal Ascot over this trip last season. Has been out of sorts including here last time so is hard to fancy at present.

HMS PRESIDENT

Jockey: Rossa Ryan
Trainer: Alan King

HMS dependable. Honest stayer who has run three good races this season, winning at Newmarket over this trip before a cracker over 1m4f in the Duke Of Edinburgh at Royal Ascot. He’s creeping up the weights but will run his race and on the shortlist.

REAL DREAM

Jockey: Ryan Moore
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute

REAL deal. Sir Michael Stoute has had this race in mind for this four-year-old all season and gave him an excellent sighter of York over 1m2f at the Dante meeting in May. He was just a length away and showed his liking for this trip with a smooth success at Ascot. A mark of 99 looks fair with more to come and Moore on board.

CAIUS CHORISTER

Jockey: Kyle Strydom
Trainer: David Menuisier

CAIUS unlocked. Hit and miss this season with 1m2f really not ideal at Goodwood last time. This distance will suit better and she looks a big each-way price with extra-place bookies.

SWEET WILLIAM

Jockey: Robert Havlin
Trainer: John & Thady Gosden

SWEET on him. Long-time favourite who impressed when winning over staying trips at Goodwood and Newbury. He has just a 4lb penalty for last success and has a lot more to come for the Gosdens. Mighty chance.

EUCHEN GLEN

Jockey: Paul Mulrennan
Trainer: Jim Goldie

GLEN bucked. More than 20 runs since a win and is 6lb lower than last year when he was beaten three lengths. Solid run at Goodwood last time but he’s 10 now and surely will find a few too good.

SCAMPI

Jockey: Jason Hart
Trainer: Andrew Balding

SCAMPI flies. Decent form around 1m4f and won on fast ground at the Dante meeting. He scored again nicely at Ascot last time and should stay at a track he likes. Shortlisted.

WICKYWICKYWHEELS

Jockey: Tadhg O'Shea
Trainer: Jim Goldie

ON my Wick. Hasn’t won since rejoining Jim Goldie and struggled in Listed last time. Stays but doesn’t look up to this level.

SARATOGA GOLD

Jockey: Tom Marquand
Trainer: Charles Hills

GOLD tarnished. Solid at lower levels but was held in weaker company at Sandown last time and needs a lot more.

BERKSHIRE ROCCO

Jockey: Callum Hutchinson
Trainer: Andrew Balding

ROCC on. Back to form stepped up to two miles at Ascot last time and is off the same mark here. First-time visor may help and he’s a Listed winner at best. No forlorn hope.

ADJUVANT

Jockey: Kevin Stott
Trainer: Michael Bell

AD a grower. Got within three lengths of Sweet William at Goodwood and is best over this trip. Yard is in decent form and he has an each-way shout.

POST IMPRESSIONIST

Jockey: Adam Farragher
Trainer: William Haggas

POST haste. Won on last visit here in October and stays well. Goes on any ground and solid claimer on board.

Templegate's tip

REAL DREAM can come true in the Sky Bet Ebor.

Sir Michael Stoute has aimed him at this race all season and he showed a liking for the track when third at the Dante meeting.

He matched that when scoring at Ascot latest and has more to come.

Sweet William is a fair favourite given how impressive he was at Newbury and Goodwood and he’ll be right there.

Willie Mullins runs two with Jackfinbar and Absurde both right in the each-way hunt.

HMS President and Scampi are gutsy stayers who complete the shortlist.
