Following Daniel Jones' knee injury, Tommy Devito is set to assume the starting quarterback role for the Giants. The Giants have struggled offensively in games when DeVito has played the majority of the 60-minute duration, scoring a total of just 16 points. The team will be relying on Devito to step up and contribute to their offensive efforts in the absence of Jones, with hopes of improving their scoring output in upcoming games.

Dallas is favored by 16.5 to 17.5 in this game, but should the spread be even bigger?

How are the Giants going to score in this game? They’re averaging 11.2 points per game this season, and they have scored 10 or fewer five times. DeVito went 15-of-20 for 175 yards last week, but most of that yardage came in garbage time.

The Giants’ defense has played decently of late, but they did just give up 30 points to Aidan O’Connell. Meanwhile, the Cowboys have scored 40 points twice this season, and they’ve scored 38 or more in two of their last five games. Other than a really bad performance against the Arizona Cardinals, the Cowboys have decimated bad defenses.

The Cowboys are allowing just 18.5 points per game. They also average 2.6 sacks per game, which is a number that will surely go up after facing an offensive line allowing 5.4 per contest. Simply put, if you think the Cowboys are going to score 24 points in this game, then there is almost no way they don’t cover a 16.5-point spread.

We’re tempted to play this up to -20.5. At DraftKings, that number is currently priced at +143. There is value in that play, as we don’t expect the Giants to score double-digits. And with how poorly their offense is going to move the ball, the defense is going to be exhausted and fall apart late.

DraftKings and BetMGM are still offering this spread below 17, and we recommend you pounce on that number as quickly as possible. DraftKings is offering a price of -110, while BetMGM is offering -115, so the former is the better place to play right now.

We firmly believe that FanDuel is setting a trend that every single other sportsbook is bound to follow. We can’t imagine much support for the Giants this week after how they’ve looked, so if you’re on the Cowboys, you’re not going to get a better spread than this.

The total opened at 39.5, and there has already been a bit of movement. Two of the five major sportsbooks have dropped the number to 39, while two others have dropped it to 38.5. The Cowboys have shown a few times this season that they can clear this number by themselves, but oddsmakers seem to have made up their minds about the Under.

Way back before all the injuries, the Cowboys were favored by 9.5 points. That spread is now as high as 17.5. Sportsbooks seem intent on dropping this number in favor of the Giants, but we believe all the money from the public is going to back the Cowboys no matter how big this spread gets.
