Hewick primed for another big assignment in Kerry National

Hewick is in search of another big prize in the Guinness Kerry National at Listowel. Shark Hanlon's horse has enjoyed a fantastic year for him. He won the Durham National, the bet365 Gold Cup and the Galway Plate. If he finishes in first three off 163, he's probably a Grade One horse. If Hewick runs well, Hanlin might go to America with him for the $250,000 American Grand National. Joseph O'Brien has a six-strong squad, with the JP McManus-owned trio of Darasso, A Wave Of The Sea and Early Doors. Fire Attack, Busselton and Embittered are also in his squad.

Willie Mullins has three of the four reserves. Rock Road would be an obvious threat if getting a run. The winner of Sandown's bet365 handicap over 3m5f in April will have to defy an 8lb rise. Hurricane Georgie fell at the first in the Plate. Busselton won the beginners' chase on this card last year.
