Horse Racing Tips Friday 17th February 2023 best bets and most tipped horses

Four horse racing fixtures will take place on Friday and the action starts at Lingfield on the all-weather at 13:50, while there's alternative afternoon action at Kelso over the sticks. A brace of evening fixtures will come from Dundalk and Southwell on the all-weather and we pick out some of the most eye-catching and most popular naps from our racing naps table...

Harriet Graham & Gary Rutherford's Dancewiththewind has proven the most popular nap of the day with a whopping six tipsters napping the 11/4 chance for the 15:35 at Kelso. Jason Heavey from The Star, who has napped three winners on the bounce, is one of six tipsters napping the eight-year-old who is a course and distance winner and showed he was in excellent form when winning at Wetherby last time out. He will have a 3lbs rise to contend with this afternoon, so will face a tougher test, but he looks a major player in an intriguing event.

Dan Skelton's West Cork has struggled to deliver the goods over fences so will make a return to hurdles this afternoon and Andrew Bladen from the Wolverhampton Express & Star has napped the nine-year-old in the 15:35 event. A former Greatwood Hurdle winner that finished fourth in last season's County Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, West Cork is hoping a return to the smaller obstacles can see him return to winning ways.

Earlier on in the afternoon at Kelso, Iain Jardine's Swallows Song will bid for glory in the 14:05 contest and that contender has been napped by three tipsters - including Whistler from The Sunday Telegraph - why another notable nap of the day at Kelso is Traprain Law, who is a 3/1 chance for the 14:35 event and is the best bet of Mercury of the Daily Post.

John & Thady Gosden have a hot favourite at Lingfield on Friday afternoon in the shape of Unforgotten, who has been napped by three tipsters and the 5/6 jolly will be the one to beat in the 15:20 contest, as the Godolphin raider bids for a third win on the bounce in today's event.

Postdata from the Racing Post is currently topping the naps table with a profit of £26.98 and that tipster will attempt to pull further clear of the abovementioned Bladen by landing a winning nap at Southwell's evening card. Postdata has napped the 100/30 chance Harry With Style in the 17:45 contest and that raider is looking to break his maiden tag at the eighth time of asking. Last seen finishing a career best third at the track off a mark of 53, John Ryan's charge will look to deliver off the same mark today and if he can continue on an upward curve then he has to be respected.

The Brigadier has been in superb tipping form this week and will attempt to make it four winning naps in a row this evening at Southwell and the form tipster has napped the 11/10 market leader Local Bay in the 19:45 contest. Tony Carroll's five-year-old was a winner seven days ago and will have the burden of a penalty to carry in today's event, but shaped like he could be capable of going in again and looks a notable player.

Over at Dundalk, Rory Paddock from the Jersey Evening Post has taken a real chance on 25/1 outsider Eglish, who runs in the 15:55 contest, while another nap at the Irish track worth noting is the 2/1 chance Gracesolution, who is the nap of the day for Brian Flanagan from the Irish Daily Sport in the 19:30 race.
