Horse Racing Tips Monday 20th February 2023 best bets and most tipped horses

It's a quiet day's racing on Monday as only three fixtures take place and it all kicks off at Carlisle over the sticks at 13:15, while there's alternative afternoon racing at Lingfield Park. There's a solitary all-weather evening fixture at Newcastle this evening and we preview all Monday's action here and pick out some of the most eye-catching naps of the day from a host of racing tipsters...

Jamie Snowden's Up For Parol was last seen finishing a fine third in the Lanzarote Hurdle at Kempton Park last month and the seven-year-old will attempt to build on that effort this afternoon when lining up in the 15:50 at Carlisle. He will have the burden of top weight this afternoon and will have to deal with a few lbs hike in the handicap, but the 4/1 shot has been napped by current naps table leader Postdata from the Racing Post and the third placed tipster Andrew Bladen from the Wolverhampton Express & Star. Snowden could potentially have Cheltenham on his mind with this potentially progressive gelding, so if he can win here then he could push himself into the handicap picture for next month's Cheltenham Festival.

The most popular nap of the day also runs at Carlisle in the 15:15 and the horse in question is the Oliver Greenall & Josh Guerriero-trained Post Chaise, who is a 15/8 market leader for that event and has been napped by five tipsters. The likes of Mercury from the Daily Post and Brian Flanagan from The Irish Daily Star have napped the well-fancied challenger, who has won his last two outings and will bid for a hat-trick of wins this afternoon.

The same training partnership of Greenall and Guerriero team up earlier on in the afternoon with Paddy's Fancy in the 14:45 event and that 3/1 chance has been napped by four tipsters, while fourth-placed tipster Lee Sobot of The Yorkshire Evening Post has napped the red-hot 4/7 jolly Altobelli in the 13:45 race at Carlisle.

There's jumping action at Lingfield Park this afternoon and it could be a family affair with the Jonjo O'Neil-trained, Jonjo O'Neill-ridden Fame And Concrete proving a popular contender in the 14:00 race with three tipsters napping the 11/10 market leader. Newsboy from the Daily Mirror is one of the three tipsters napping the Jackdaws Castle inmate, who will have to carry top weight today, but has shown signs on two hurdle starts to date and looks the one to beat in today's event.

Other notable naps at Lingfield include the Anthony Honeyball-trained Gabriel's Getaway, who is a 5/4 chance for the 15:35 race and is napped by three tipsters, while an eye-catching bigger priced runner at the track is Dindin in the same 15:35 event, who is the nap of the day for Paul Kealy from The Weekender and that 6/1 chance has to be respected.

Melissa Jones from the Daily Express is the form tipster having notched up winning naps on Saturday and Sunday and she will look to record a third win on the bounce on Monday and heads to Newcastle's all-weather evening meeting for her bet of the day. Jones has sided with the David Evans-trained Level Up, who is currently available at 7/4 for the 18:00 race and the four-year-old is bidding for a third win in five starts.
