Horse Racing Tips Wednesday 1st March 2023 best bets and most tipped horses

There are four horse racing fixtures taking place on Wednesday and the action begins at Musselburgh over the sticks at 13:50, while there's alternative afternoon action at Lingfield and Wincanton, with a solitary evening fixture coming from Kempton. We have scrolled our naps table and picked out some of the most popular selections from a host of racing writers...

Philip Kirby's Lone Star has been in tremendous form in recent weeks notching up a brace of victories and the in-form six-year-old will look to make it three wins on the bounce on Wednesday afternoon when he lines up in the 15:25 at Musselburgh. Proving popular with our racing tipsters, Lone Star has been napped by three tipsters for today's contest including RP Ratings from the Racing Post, and the 6/4 shot will have a tough ask this afternoon as he looks to defy a 8lbs rise, but a mark of 100 looks workable and he will be one of the standout runners of the day.

Earlier on in the afternoon at Lingfield Park, the Kevin Phillipart De Foy-trained Expert Agent has proven the most popular nap of the day with five tipsters napping the well-fancied 5/2 shot for the 14:30 at Lingfield. The Brigadier, who sits third in the naps table, is one of five tipsters to nap the three-year-old, who put up a career best last time out when winning at Kempton Park and the son of Expert Eye is looking to record back-to-back wins.

Paul Nicholls will certainly have one eye on the Cheltenham Festival now we move into March and many punters are sure to put some Ditcheat inmates in their Cheltenham tips portfolio, but today he heads to Wincanton and Cap Du Mathan has caught the eye of four tipsters in the 15:45. The eight-year-old will have the burden of top weight this afternoon, but has won his last two outings, so heads into the event as one of the form horses and at 15/8 makes significant appeal.

Postdata of the Racing Post still remains at the top of the naps table and the premier tipster heads to Kempton Park's evening fixture for the nap of the day, and Postdata has put up the 3/1 chance Seattle King as the best bet in the 17:30 race. Winless since his debut back in 2021, the four-year-old son of Kingman has slipped down the handicap in recent times and lines up off 52 this afternoon, so has to be respected in a mediocre event.

Chasing Postdata and currently in second place is Andrew Bladen from the Wolverhampton Express & Star and he heads to Musselburgh's 15:55 race for his best bet of the day and Bladen has napped the 5/1 chance Cuban Cigar. Lucinda Russell's five-year-old was last seen finishing third at Musselburgh off a mark of 105 and the consistent performer will line up off the same figure this afternoon and should run a creditable race.

For those punters looking for some bigger priced naps could side with the Clive Cox-trained Mohi, who is an eye-catching 18/1 chance for the 19:00 race at Kempton. The four-year-old has been struggling of late and has been dropping in the handicap and was last seen finishing seventh at Kempton off 85. He's been dropped 4lbs this evening, so a mark of 81 is certainly interesting if he can produce his best form and Mohi is the best bet of Lambourn from the Racing Post.
