Irish Grand National tips: Three bets for the Fairyhouse feature

The €500,000 Boylesports Irish Grand National takes place at Fairyhouse on Monday at 5.00 pm. Gaillard Du Mesnil is the current 6-1 favourite with the sponsors. Rhyme ‘n’ Reason, Desert Orchid and Bobbyjo have won the competition in the past.

Farclas was a fifth in the 2021 Grand National. He unseated his rider in Kerry National and finished second to stable companion Run Wild Fred in Troytown Chase. Gordon Elliott withdrew Farcla from the Grand Nats in order to have a tilt at this event.

Max Flamingo will race against Emmet Mullins at Thurles on Monday. Noble Yeats won the Grand National last week. Max Flamedo finished fourth in a Grade One at Leopardstown behind Fury Road in March.

Noel Meade is chasing his second Irish Grand National victory 20 years after success with The Bunny Boiler. Diol Ker finished second at Fairyhouse in January and fourth in the Thyestes Chase at Gowran Park. Franco De Port won the Leinster National.

There are plenty of contenders who ran in the Grand National making a quick reappearance. Gaillard Du Mesnil is a leading player. Farcas, Max Flamingo and Diabolical Ker come into the race off a nice break.
