Jets vs. Commanders prediction: NFL odds, pick, best bets

Both the Jets and Commanders are out of playoff contention as the two squads hook up for an interconference matchup on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.

There was an outside chance Aaron Rodgers would return to the Jets’ lineup following his Achilles’ tendon tear in the season opener.

Instead, the Jets will keep Rodgers fresh until the 2024 season and have him sit the final three games.

The Jets will turn to Trevor Siemian at quarterback in place of Zach Wilson, who is sidelined with a concussion.

The Jets had their best half of the season two weeks ago by scoring 30 points in the second half of a 30-6 win over the Texans.

However, they put up a goose egg in last Sunday’s 30-0 loss at Miami, barely putting up more than 100 yards of offense.

Washington heads to the Garden State after suffering its fifth straight loss, a 28-20 setback to the Rams, during which QB Sam Howell was benched.

The Commanders have failed to cover the spread in four consecutive games, but they own a 5-2 ATS mark on the road this season.

Sunday marks the third time this season the Jets are listed as a favorite.

They rallied past the Giants in overtime as three-point “road” favorites and lost at Las Vegas as a one-point favorite, while scoring a total of 25 points in those games.

It’s obvious that both these teams have problems scoring and each has been a huge disappointment.

Even with Howell returning under center for the Commanders, let’s take the points with Washington as a short underdog on the road.
