2022 Memorial Tournament Odds & Picks

Sam Burns won the Charles Schwab Challenge in a playoff. Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas won't be playing in the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village this week. Jon Rahm is the favorite to win the tournament. Patrick Cantlay and Collin Morikawa are also in contention. The U.S. Open is taking place at the Country Club in three weeks. The tournament starts on June 14th.

Xander Schauffele is about as close to Patrick Cantlay as it gets on the PGA Tour. He has played at Muirfield Village five times and has finished inside the top 15 in each tournament. Schufele has won the Zurich Classic and the AT&T Byron Nelson.

Matthew Fitzpatrick finished fifth at the PGA Championship. He will play in the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village in 2020. He is one of the best putters in golf and has a nice blend of distance and accuracy. His iron play is consistent and he has gained strokes on approach in every start of 2022.

Joaquin Niemann is enjoying a career season and won the Genesis Invitational in late February. He has since played himself into contention at the RBC Heritage and AT&T Byron Nelson without the help of his typically steady iron play.

Davis Riley finished tied for fourth in the Charles Schwab Challenge. He is playing in his first Memorial Tournament. Riley is becoming one of the best iron players in world. He gained an obscene +2.03 strokes on approach per round at Colonial Country Club.

Mito Pereira finished in a tie for seventh place at the Charles Schwab Challenge. He has now finished three straight top-20 finishes and has ascended to No. 45 in the Official World Golf Rankings. Pereiras is a good ball-striker and is comfortable on bent grass putting surfaces.

Muirfield Village Golf Club was recently renovated in 2020 and measures nearly 7,600 yards and plays to a par 72. It is one of the more difficult stops on the PGA Tour as the winning score is often somewhere in the mid-teens under par. The only difference between Muirfields and Augusta National is the penal rough off the fairway.
