However, this could be the Oilers year because they have so much more around him. The progression of defenceman Evan Bouchard will be interesting to watch, as well as the play of Mattias Ekholm.
The Oilers should be better in their own zone and that will help them get further in the playoffs than ever before.
Dallas Stars Stanley Cup odds: (+1600 or better)
The Dallas Stars have a great mix of young talent with solid veterans. Players like Miro Heiskanen and Wyatt Johnson seem primed to take over the league for years to come.
That’s not even mentioning Jason Robertson who has solidified himself as an elite winger in the NHL and can put up a ton of goals.
One player to watch this season is Roope Hintz. The speedy center is one of the most underrated player across the league and someone that is primed for a big year.
Look for Hintz to help put the Stars on the map as true Stanely Cup contenders.
Buffalo Sabres Stanley Cup odds: (+4000 or better)
If you’re looking for a long shot Stanley Cup pick, the Buffalo Sabres represent good value at +4000. The Sabres have a ton of good young players who are just waiting to take that next step forward.
Some of the names to watch include Owen Power and Dylan Cozens, two players that seem destined to make a big impact.
The Sabres also have some young players who have already had their breakout seasons. Tage Thompson is a big force down the middle of the ice and Rasmus Dahlin is a Norris Trophy Candidate.
