2023 LIV Picks: Bedminster Odds and Expert Betting Predictions

LIV Golf returns for back-to-back weeks of action as players head to Bedminster. The LIV Tour will try and keep the momentum rolling with another huge week of action. Bryson DeChambeau shot an electric final round of 58 to claim victory in West Virginia last week. Despite Cam Smith being the betting favorite, all eyes will be on DeChambeau as he looks to follow up last week’s dominant performance. Five-time major champion Brooks Koepka comes in at third best odds at 12-1. This is the second time LIV will play on the Trump-owned course in New Jersey. Last year, Henrik Stenson defeated Dustin Johnson and Matthew Wolff by two shots. We will look below at the best bets for this upcoming weekend.

Course Characteristics of Those Who Can Win or Secure Winning Golf Bets

Bedminster is a long and demanding golf course. There will be plenty of penalties this week, with water in play on half of the holes. When trying to dodge the water, there are a plethora of bunkers and tree-lined fairways to encounter as well. The course is a par 72 and measures in at 7,580 yards. If you can avoid the hazards, the fairways are wide and the greens are large. Accuracy off the tee will be the biggest key this week for players in contention. A winning score like last year’s -11 is a good target again.

Talor Gooch +1400

Gooch has put together an amazing 2023 season and has established himself among the best LIV golfers. He has already won this season at Adelaide, Singapore and Andalucia. He cruises into this upcoming weekend after finishing 7th last week in West Virginia, where he shot a 64 and 65 on the first two days before fading on Sunday. Gooch has decent length off the tee and desired accuracy, where he ranks fifth in LIV stats. Look for Gooch to contend on Sunday out of the 48-man field.

Patrick Reed +1800

Trump Bedminster is in New Jersey, and Patrick Reed loves playing in Jersey as well as its neighboring state of New York. He always seems to excel in these two states, where he has recorded 10 top-25 finishes in 13 starts. Reed also has two victories out of those 13 starts in New York and New Jersey. Last year at this event, Reed posted a first round 64 to share the lead before finishing in fifth. Reed currently has 102 points in the LIV standings and is no stranger to contend on Sundays. He has been in the world top-50 since 2014 and has top-10 finishes in all four Majors. Back Reed this weekend in New Jersey.

Matthew Wolff +4100

Wolff has been open about his mental and physical struggles after Brooks Koepka called him out for quitting on himself and his play. I am looking for him to keep his confidence after last weekend and contend at Bedminster. Wolff finished in 3rd place last week after leading after 36 holes. He ranked 4th in Total Driving and 2nd in putting average last week. He also finished in 3rd place last year at Bedminster. At 41-1, his efforts last week are being overlooked by the books. I think Wolff builds on last week's performance and should be on your radar for this weekend.
