49ers vs. Eagles Odds, Picks, Predictions for NFC Championship: Philadelphia Slight Home Favorite

The San Francisco 49ers have won 12 games in a row, as they head on the road to try to take down the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship Game. Here are our best 49ers vs. Eagles NFL picks based on the best NFL odds.

The 49ers haven’t lost since Oct. 23, and quarterback Brock Purdy has never lost an NFL game as a starting quarterback. After surviving the Divisional Round with a 19-12 win over the Dallas Cowboys, the 49ers are 2.5-point underdogs as they take on the NFC’s top seed.

Including the postseason, the Eagles are 15-1 in games started by quarterback Jalen Hurts this season. They have won those 15 games by an average of 12.7 points per contest. They are averaging 28.6 points per game, the second-most in the NFL, and allowing 19.6 per contest, the sixth-fewest in the league.

Here is our best 49ers vs. Eagles NFL pick for the NFC Championship game (odds via Caesars Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

49ers vs. Eagles odds

The Eagles opened as 2.5-point favorites, and after seeing an initial move to the key number of 3, this line has settled back where it opened. All five of the major sportsbooks are in agreement about the line. The price is currently steeper for the Eagles to cover than the 49ers, which signals this could move in their favor. Even if it does, it’s unlikely it moves through the key number. Sixty-one percent of bettors are backing the Eagles against the spread.

As for the total, the number opened at 45, and despite 60% of bets on the Under, it has gone up to as high as 46.5 at a few of the major sportsbooks. We’ve seen this type of movement often this postseason, such as last weekend when the Cincinnati Bengals were a popular pick, but the spread kept growing in favor of the Buffalo Bills. Ultimately, the public was right.

49ers vs. Eagles pick

This is a tough game to pick whether looking at player props, the spread, or the total. The 49ers are the hottest team in football, and they have the best-scoring defense in the league. They have allowed just two teams to score 30 or more against them this year. That’s been a recipe for success, as they’re averaging 26.8 points per game, tied for fourth most in the NFL, and they have scored more than 30 in four of their last five games.

Yet, the Eagles’ numbers are just as impressive. Despite being without Hurts for two games at the end of the season, the Eagles still averaged the second-most points in the league, and their defense has been one of the most underrated units in all of football this season. We’ve seen both of these teams win by scoring in the 20s, but we’ve also seen them win shootouts. Therefore, it’s hard to know exactly what kind of game we’re going to get on Sunday.

However, we’re taking the Eagles for two reasons. First, they have been fantastic at home this season. They're 8-2 and though their only loss with Hurts under center did come at Lincoln Financial Field, they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 points in their home victories. Five of their 10 home games were against playoff teams. Second, they have Hurts who has been the most dynamic player in the NFL all season.

The 49ers are allowing just 79 yards rushing per game, which makes it hard to trust Hurts’ prop, but if he can add to his 794 rushing yards, it could take the 49ers out of their game plan. This is a tough game to pick, but the Eagles have the slight edge and should probably be favored by more than three.

49ers vs. Eagles best odds

Caesars (-115)

The five major sportsbooks are all in agreement on the line for this game, but DraftKings is offering a slightly inflated price for the Eagles. Therefore, if you're on the 49ers, the best place to bet is DraftKings, but if you are on the Eagles, any of the other four major sportsbooks are fine to bet at.

Interestingly, DraftKings is offering the best Eagles’ moneyline, so if you’re looking to parlay their outright win with other props, then DraftKings is the best place to do so. And finally, Caesars is offering the lowest total, so if you like the Eagles and the Over, then Caesars is the place to go.
