95th Academy Awards: Odds, Picks & Predictions (2023 Oscars)

The 95th annual Academy Awards ceremony, often known as the Oscars, is scheduled to take place on March 12th, 2023, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

The nominations have been announced, and the odds for Oscars betting are now accessible at a limited number of sportsbooks in the United States and offshore. Nevertheless, event betting is not legal in all jurisdictions, so some restrictions do apply. For those that are able to get down on the action, let’s take a closer look at a couple of bets I see value in.

The 95th Academy Awards Best Bets

2023 Best Picture

  • Everything Everywhere All At Once (-900)
  • All Quiet on the Western Front (+1100)
  • The Banshees of Inisherin (+1800)
  • Top Gun Maverick (+2900)
  • The Fabelmans (+2900)
  • Tar (+6500)
  • Elvis (+8000)
  • Avatar: The Way of Water (+10000)
  • Triangle of Sadness (+10000)
  • Women Talking (+10000)

Best Value Bet: Everything Everywhere All At Once(-900)

Everything Everywhere All At Once has established itself as the odds-on favorite to win the most prestigious award at this year’s Academy Awards. The film received the most nominations (11) and won the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Picture earlier this year.

Everything Everywhere All at Once, despite being one of the year’s biggest hits and one of the quirkiest pictures, does not exactly scream “Oscar movie.” It’s not your typical frontrunner for Best Picture since it’s absurdist, off-kilter, and more rooted in genre traditions than those films.

In spite of this, it is also a sincere work that appeals to a wide audience, and it just so happens to feature a number of alternate universes (including one where everyone has hot dogs for fingers). While the odds are short, this is a lock to win best picture.

2023 Best Actress

  • Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All At Once) (-125)
  • Cate Blanchett (Tar) (-115)
  • Andrea Riseborough (To Leslie) (+2900)
  • Michelle Williams (The Fablemans) (+3400)
  • Ana de Armas (Blonde) (+5000)

Best Value Bet: Cate Blanchett (-115)

Cate Blanchett’s performance in Tar should not be underestimated, despite the fact that Michelle Yeoh may be the favorite in this category. Her performance is captivating despite the fact that her character is not at all sympathetic in the film in question and that the film itself may be irritating.

Blanchett has received acclaim from critics all over the world for her performance as a difficult figure in classical music (the fictional titular Lydia Tar) in the first film that Todd Field has directed in more than a decade. She has already won the award for Best Actress at the Critics’ Choice Awards as well as the Golden Globes, and she is currently competing for her second Oscar after receiving the award for Best Actress in 2013. I think she gets another trophy here.
