Oscars Best Actor Predictions 2024: Cillian Murphy the Favorite, Paul Giamatti Close Behind

Our best sportsbooks still have Cillian Murphy listed as the consensus Best Actor favorite at the 2024 Oscars, but Paul Giamatti is making this a close battle. 

All of the Oscars odds for 2024 see Cillian Murphy as the favorite to win Best Actor, but Paul Giamatti has won plenty of other awards in the same category to make this a tight race. 

Giamatti was at one point +1000, but his odds shortened to +500 after the Golden Globes. He's now around +200 following nomination reveals. Bradley Cooper, Jeffrey Wright, and Colman Domingo round out the final three nominees, but this does seem to be a two-horse race.

Cillian Murphy (-334 via bet365)

Murphy will be a four-digit favorite at our best sports betting sites if he wins at the SAG Awards.

Make sure you wager on this market before then, whether you're looking for a value play or are comfortable paying a heavy price on what should be the winner. 

Paul Giamatti - The Holdovers (+290 via FanDuel)

Our best live betting sites are moving Giamatti's odds very quickly toward the front of the pack. It's amazing to think he held four-digit odds almost a month ago, but Giamatti has racked up awards, including a Golden Globe and a Critics Choice.

If Giamatti wins at the SAG Awards, he'll become the favorite and could win at the Oscars, too. If you want to bet on Giamatti, do it before the SAGs. 

Bradley Cooper - Maestro (+2200 via FanDuel)

It's no surprise to see Cooper nominated, despite many having issues with "Maestro." His odds were as short as +185 at one point, but the steam and momentum he held are gone.

His movie will get plenty of recognition with nominations, but don't expect it to win much outside of Hairstyle/Makeup or Cinematography.
