Arc de Triomphe runners, riders, draw and Templegate tip as punters turn back on Frankie Dettori's final ride

FRANKIE DETTORI is easy in the market for his final ride in the 'world's greatest race' - as the Arc takes centre stage on Sunday.

The world's most famous jockey rides the John & Thady Gosden-trained Free Wind in the 1m4f Paris feature.

But her price has drifted from 16-1 to 25-1 having been slashed from 66s after Dettori was confirmed onboard.

Still, if anyone knows how to win over the Longchamp track it's Dettori, having won the race a record six times.

The Arc will be live on ITV4 at 3.05pm on Sunday and Matt Chapman and Templegate have already told you their big tips.

Templegate's Arc de Triomphe guide and tip

SISFAHAN

HAN solo. Has never matched his 2021 German Derby win and was well beaten in this class last time. Trip suits but looks out of his depth.

HAYA ZARK

ZARK lark. Landed a couple of French Group 3s over 1m2f earlier this season but was held in a lesser race than this last time and needs a lot more.

ONESTO

SORE To. Finished tenth last year and has been held on all three starts since, including in the Irish Champion Stakes latest. Has plenty to find.

SIMCA MILLE

SIM won’t win. Landed a big race in Germany last time and has a couple of Group 2 wins on his CV around here. Stays well and won’t mind decent ground but faces stiffer opposition today.

BAY BRIDGE

BAY of hope. Has plenty of smart form over 1m2f including third in the Ganay here in April. Best has come on soft ground like when winning the Champion Stakes at Ascot. While he won over this trip at Kempton latest, this may stretch his stamina.

WESTOVER

GO West. Last year’s Irish Derby winner was a solid sixth in this 12 months ago on ground that was too soft. Landed the Grand Prix De Saint-Cloud well before running a cracker in the King George VI at Ascot in July. Likes this trip and comes here fresh with a massive chance.

HUKUM

KUM on. He’s been aimed at this all season and warmed up with a big personal best when beating Westover a head in the King George VI at Ascot. That’s strong form and he is best over this trip. The ground is the only worry if it’s quick as he’s never gone well on anything faster than good.

PLACE DU CARROUSEL 3

KNOW your Place. Won the Opera over 1m2f at this meeting last season and stepped up to this trip when winning a Group 2 here last time. Her stamina isn’t guaranteed against this better class of opposition.

THROUGH SEVEN SEAS

DEEP Seas. Strong form in Japan over 1m2f and gave the mighty Equinox a scare there last time. Fast ground would be in her favour but she has stamina to prove over this longer distance.

FREE WIND

FREE hit. Almost landed her first Group 1 win when beaten a head in the Yorkshire Oaks last month. She got her favoured fast ground there and saw out this trip well. This is another ball game so Frankie will need to conjure up more improvement.

MR HOLLYWOOD

WOOD not. Has improved with every run and followed his second in the German Derby over this trip with a runner-up effort in Baden-Baden’s big race last time. Looks capable of better and will need to find it.

FEED THE FLAME
FLAME burns. He was impressive when winning the Grand Prix De Paris over course and distance in July so it was a surprise that he could take a Group 2 here earlier this month. He may have needed the run after a little break so may bounce back.

ACE IMPACT

CHASE the Ace. He enjoyed the quick ground when winning the French Derby in style before he didn’t have to get too serious when landing Group 2 honours at Deauville in August. He swerved the Irish Champion to stay fresh for this and shapes as though stepping up in trip will bring improvement. Major player.

FANTASTIC MOON

MOON shines. German Derby winner who ran his best race since when scoring over course and distance last time. He’s been supplemented on the back of that so connections clearly fancy their chances.

Templegate's tip

CONTINUOUS

CON job. Won the St Leger in style, prompting the lads at Ballydoyle to fork out £120,000 to supplement him for this. That was on soft but he enjoyed quicker ground when running away with the Great Voltigeur at York. He stays well but isn’t short of pace and can go close again.
