Arsenal v Brighton: Best bets for all Sunday’s Premier League games

Play spot the difference at the Emirates today.

Some Arsenal fans think it’s iffy that they’ve had only four Prem penalties, given the amount of time their lads have spent prancing about in opposition boxes, which is more time than most.

Also, Manchester City have had 10 pens, which is more pens than four.

But, amazingly, it’s probably not VAR’s fault.

According to research by ESPN.co.uk, Arsenal and City have both had a roughly equal balance of VAR decisions, for and against. Mid-table stuff.

Poor Brighton (4.30pm) are bottom of this VAR table, as the side most bruised by Stockley Park meddling. Liverpool have been the most helped, since you ask.

It’s a pity football all comes down to tables in the end. Both Brighton and Arsenal have shone this season. The Gunners won’t fall short for lack of ambition or firepower.

They have hit three or more goals 19 times all told. Fearless Brighton have done it 14 times.

Martin Odegaard is fizzing again, and the 5/2 (Bet365) ‘anytime scorer’ is a tonic, given the goal-rich forecast.

Gunners right-back Ben White could have a testing afternoon against Karou Mitoma – the 13/2 (Sky Bet) White is ‘shown a card’ looks ripe.

Brentford are by some margin the best in the Premier League if you’re backing blind to WIN – over £14 up to a £1 stake. That suggests the Bees have been underrated by the market. Bottom of the profit/loss table this season, so ‘most overrated’? Chelsea.

Second worst are Brentford’s visitors West Ham (2pm). Ivan Toney, who’s scored in seven of his past 10 homes, rates a 7/5 (Bet365) ‘anytime scorer’ bet.

Real Madrid ’s Antonio Rudiger did it. But the question is whether there’s an Everton defender capable of inserting himself quite as far up Erling Haaland ’s nostril without getting so much as booked, when Manchester City head to Goodison (2pm).

The reverse fixture saw seven yellows and Haaland lucky to stay on – ‘OVER 3.5 cards’ at 5/6 is the right coinflip, and ‘penalty in the match’ fits at 9/4 (both Bet365).

Over in Serie A, Cremonese’s David Okereke is a fair shout ‘to score from outside box’ at a potentially distracted Juventus (7.45pm) – 100/1 (Bet365) is a huge price given his stats.
