Atlanta Braves: Harris and Strider named finalists for NL Rookie of the Year
The Atlanta Braves won the NL East and repeated as champions. William Contreras was the designated hitter in the All-Star game. Kyle Wright and Max Fried were great in rotation. The bullpen led by AJ Minter, Kenley Jansen, Raisel Iglesias, and Colin McHugh were awesome all year long. Michael Harris and Spencer Strider are the favorites to win the Rookie of the Year award.
Michael Harris is the favorite to win Rookie of the Year. He posted a 136 wRC+ and 4.8 fWAR in 114 games for the Atlanta Braves. His teammate Spencer Strider missed time in the last month of season. He is also the favourite because position players are given more credence by BBWAA voters than pitchers.
Spencer Strider and Harris are the finalists for the NL Rookie of the Year award. Stridder was injured last season, but he was already named the Sporting News' NL rookie of year and Player's Choice Award winner. He also signed an extension with the Braves. Brendan Donovan is a contender to win the award, too. The Braves signed him to an contract. It will be interesting to see how the race plays out.
