Atlanta Braves ace Max Fried finishes second in NL Cy Young race
Max Fried finished second in the Cy Young Award voting. Miami Marlins ace Sandy Alcantara was the unanimous winner. Julio Urías of the Los Angeles Dodgers came in third place. Kyle Wright received a single vote. Spencer Strider didn't get any votes. The Baseball Writer's Association of America voted for the best pitcher in National League. The winner was Alcantsara. He was voted by 30 of 30 members. Fried was a nominee.
Max Fried finished second in the NL Cy Young race behind Sandy Alcantara. Fried had the best FIP, close to 200 strikeouts and higher fWAR than Alcanta. Alcante was 2-1 with a 2.86 ERA against Fried this season.
