ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’ll take a stab on the Mets in this one. Peterson is doing pretty well on the mound these days, even if he’s not working deep into games. Over his last three starts combined Peterson has zero earned, zero walks and five hits in 5.0 total innings. He’s going to need some help from the pen, but Peterson should set the Mets up well over the first couple innings. In the Thursday finale, New York posted another rough offensive outing with a tepid five team hits (two of them from Alonso). That makes just two combined runs in the last two games for the Mets, and that will certainly have to change in this opener. New York can hang around if they get the bats going again, though.
