Best bets for DP World Tour BMW PGA Championship

BMW PGA Championship takes place in Surrey, England this week. Rory McIlroy won the tournament in 2014 and finished second in 2018. Billy Horschel is the defending champion. H Porschel doesn't like some LIV Golf defectors taking part in this event. He thinks they are here to get World Ranking points. He also thinks some of them are hypocritical. They are not on the Liv Tour. The Pga Tour is off this weekend. It will resume next week in Napa for the Fortinet Championship. There is no Livo Golf event this time. Tommy Fleetwood is playing in the event, which has special meaning for him.

BMW PGA Championship was established in 1955 as the British Pga Championship. It was played in May but was moved to September in 2019 to avoid conflict with PgA Championship and to give the winner an exemption into the U.S. Open and the next three Open Championship tournaments. Nick Faldo, Bernhard Langer, Colin Montgomerie, Seve Ballesteros, Ian Woosnam, Francesco Molinari, Rory McIlroy, and Tony Jacklin have won the tournament. Billy Horschel became the second American to win the event last year. Arnold Palmer was the first to do so back in 1975.

The West Course at Wentworth Club in Surrey, England has hosted the BMW PGA Championship since 1984. The headquarters of the European Tour is located on the grounds of Wentwhilers West. Wentworrs West was designed in 1926 by Harry Colt with Ernie Els and European tour design. It is a Par 72 of 7,267 yards with tight fairways and some long rough. Bentgrass greens replaced Paulo Annua in the 2016 renovation.

Viktor Hovland has cooled from his hot start to 2022. He finished 11th and 49th at 2019 and 21st at Wentworth. Hvland comes in this time off two weeks rest in lieu of flying over immediately after a PGA Tour event.

Tommy Fleetwood makes his first start since mid-July. He took time off due to the passing of his mother.

Tyrrell Hatton is a 30-1 long shot to win the 2020 BMW PGA Championship. He has four top 25 finishes in his last 25 starts.

Thomas Pieters won in Abu Dhabi earlier this year. Pieter almost won the BMW International Open in Germany in 2022 but lost on a 50-footer to Haotong Li.

Branden Grace is the best bet for the DP World Tour BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.

Eddie Pepperell is in great form and is 80-1 favorite for the DP World Tour BMW PGA Championship.

Ewen Ferguson finished second in Denmark last week. He has two victories this season in Qatar and Northern Ireland.
