Best MLB prop bets today: SuperDraft player prop picks for Monday 8/28

Another week, another trip around the bases. As kids around the country head back to school, we are heading back to the basics with some DFS prop bet action for Monday night's MLB schedule, which should hopefully make for a quick trip to the payout window.

Like the first day of school, the goal is to leave home and get back as fast as possible. If our chosen players come through, they'll already be at least halfway there. Since this time of year is also filled with hope, it's hard to not head into the week ahead with a positive outlook on some of MLB's best. So, without further ado, let's commute over to SuperDraft and start the week off with a bang.

SuperDraft to pick your favorite over/unders via SuperDraft's Fantasy Props feature, bringing you closer to the action while having a chance to win cash prizes. Win 3X the amount wagered if your two-legged player prop parlay hits, and watch your potential payout rise with each additional leg you pile onto your parlay.

Below, we'll break down four of our favorite player props on SuperDraft for Monday night's MLB slate. Users don't necessarily have to parlay all four picks together, though. Instead, you could make separate two-legged parlays to increase your win probability or attempt to hit it big if all four picks come through.

Shohei Ohtani, DH, Angels @ Phillies - OVER 1.5 bases

The news wasn't kind to Ohtani last week. After revealing a torn UCL would prevent him from pitching again this season, the Angels superstar could've gone quietly into the night and shut it down for the year, but the two-way sensation won't go down without a fight. Ohtani has remained in the Halos lineup and, unsurprisingly, continues to produce.

So, while the injury might put a damper on Ohtani's contract in free agency, it hasn't hurt his production with the bat. He's been tearing the cover off the ball as usual, to the tune of a .305/.409/.666 slash line and recorded at least a double in three of his past four games. Ohtani gets a matchup against Philadelphia's Taijuan Walker, who is only striking out 19.8 percent of batters this season. With Walker pitching to contact and owning a 4.02 ERA, below his expected ERA of 4.42, all signs are pointing to some highlights from the Angels star in the City of Brotherly Love. It doesn't hurt that Ohtani's only career at-bat against Walker ended with a ball in the outfield seats.

Aaron Judge, OF, Yankees @ Tigers - OVER 1.5 bases

It's been a year to forget for Judge and the Yankees. The team with World Series aspirations has found itself in the basement of the AL East, far from contention and a source of jokes for the league's other 29 fanbases. While injuries have hindered Judge, he still remains the one true threat in pinstripes.

Despite playing in 76 games, giving us a smaller sample size, Judge is mashing the ball this season, posting a career-high 63.6-percent hard-hit rate. Combine that with a slash line of .266/.393/.622 -- which is below his expected batting average of .291 and slugging percentage of .734 -- and No. 99 has clearly had some tough luck.

Luckily for him, Reese Olson is on the mound for Detroit, and he's been roughed up in the past two outings for 10 runs on 12 hits in his past 7.1 innings. The Yankees offense might not be clicking, but Judge is the engine that makes the team go. It only makes sense that he'll find at least two bases tonight in the Motor City.

Bryce Harper, DH, Phillies vs. Angels - OVER 1.5 bases

Citizens Bank Park has proven to be a paradise for hitters over the years, so selecting one player from this game wasn't enough. Harper owns a six-game hitting streak and has gone OVER this number in five of the past six and seven of the last 10.

Lucas Giolito will be on the hill for Los Angeles, and it's been a struggle since the starter made the trek from Chicago. In five starts with the Angels, Giolito owns a 1-4 record and has been touched up for 23 runs, 20 earned, in 27 innings. The starter has a 6.67 ERA in those games and has seen that number balloon to 4.32, up from 3.79 following his last start with the White Sox.

He's been relying on the four-seam fastball and changeup primarily in August, a combination that Harper will see nearly 83 percent of the time. Harper is batting .375 and slugging .688 against the fastball while posting .333 and .556 in those same stats against offspeed pitches.

Mookie Betts, OF, Dodgers vs. Diamondbacks - OVER 1.5 bases

Betts has become the new MVP frontrunner in the National League thanks to his recent hot streak. The Dodgers superstar has played 24 games in August, recording a hit in 23 of them. In a streak that dates back to July 21, Betts has a hit in 30 of his past 31 games. It's baseball's closest equivalent of a hot shooting performance in the NBA. Somewhere, Mike Breen is saying, "BANG!" every time Betts reaches base safely.

He's slashing .464/.514/.814 this month and batting .500 on balls in play. Factor in just 15 strikeouts in 107 plate appearances and there's no reason to believe that Betts can't keep it going. Keep it simple and ride the wave all the way to the bank.
