Bayern Munich v PSG

TV: BT Sport 2 (8pm)

PSG to Win

Neither PSG nor Bayern Munich set the world alight in their round-of-16 first leg three weeks ago, but Bayern did just about enough to claim a vital away victory. All hope is not lost for PSG, however.

Bayern have won just two of their last four home Champions League knockout games and lost to PSG in Munich the last time the sides were drawn to face each other. PSG have won all three of their league games since losing the first leg three weeks ago, establishing an eight-point lead at the top of Ligue 1.

Bayern, on the other hand, have won two and lost one of their three Bundesliga games since beating PSG and are now only level on points with Borussia Dortmund at the top of the Bundesliga. Bayern have been nowhere near the same team that has dominated German football for the last decade, giving PSG hope of at least taking this tie to extra time on Wednesday night.

The French side didn’t have Kylian Mbappe playing from the start in their first-leg defeat three weeks ago, while Neymar’s injury might actually prove to be a blessing in disguise for their overall balance up front.

Kylian Mbappe to Score Anytime

Mbappe has not slowed down since returning from a relatively minor injury that kept him out of the starting line-up for the first leg in Paris. He has scored a sensational five goals in three games since returning to the PSG starting XI and will be the French side’s best hope of turning things around on Wednesday night.

Mbappe looked like the most likely PSG player to score in his brief cameo from the bench against Bayern three weeks ago and will cause plenty of problems for Bayern in Germany.

He is probably the best player in the world at present and scored twice in PSG’s 3-2 win over Bayern at the Allianz Arena two seasons ago. It wouldn’t be surprising if he scored at the same venue once again.

Spurs v AC Milan

Tottenham to Win

Tottenham appear to have evolved into a more expensive version of Sean Dyche’s Burnley in recent weeks, winning at home and losing almost all of their away games. Spurs have won their last three home games, beating the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City, but they have lost their last four away games, including their first leg defeat to AC Milan three weeks ago.

They will hope that their recent trend of winning at home continues on Wednesday night. Spurs have suffered back-to-back defeats against Sheffield United and Wolves, crashing out of the FA Cup and suffering a setback in the race for the Champions League places.

However, AC Milan have been far from perfect either, losing 2-1 at Fiorentina at the weekend to drop out of the top four in Italy. Spurs should be able to turn this tie around with their solid home form.

Harry Kane to Have 2 or More Shots on Target

Harry Kane is enjoying an excellent season, but his goals have dried up of late. The English forward has scored just three times in his last ten appearances in all competitions, a paltry run of form that corresponds directly with Tottenham’s run of six defeats in ten games.

Tottenham rely on Kane far too heavily and seem almost incapable of winning games if he doesn’t perform. He will be desperate to get on the scoresheet on Wednesday night and is highly likely to pepper the AC Milan goal with shots.

England’s captain has averaged over three shots per game for Tottenham this season and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him trying his luck in such a high-stakes environment on Wednesday.

Over 4.5 Cards

Neither Tottenham nor AC Milan boast particularly good disciplinary records. Spurs collect an average of just over two cards per game in the Premier League, while their record of 16 yellow cards in seven Champions League games is the fourth-highest in the competition.

AC Milan, meanwhile, average almost three cards per game in Italy and have collected 16 yellow cards and one red card in the Champions League, the second-worst disciplinary record in the competition.

With so much on the line on Wednesday night, both sides are likely to collect their fair share of cards, making 10/11 an attractive price for five cards or more.
