Bet on SRH v RCB: Prediction, tips and odds for Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore IPL match

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will look to halt their losing run when they take on a Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) side gunning for the IPL play-offs.

RCB head into this match knowing that the race to make the top four is set to go down to the wire. They need to beat SRH and then likely also follow up with the same result against defending champions Gujarat Titans if they are to make the latter stages of the tournament.

Sunrisers are already out of contention, having gone down to a 34-run defeat against GT last time out. They are on a streak of two straight defeats and will be looking to restore pride with a return to winning ways.

SRH vs RCB prediction

With back-to-back losses in their most recent outings, SRH will come into this one as the underdogs, and for good reason.

RCB know that only a win will do, and even then that may not be enough to make the play-offs, so they will also have one eye on the net run rate (NRR).

Expect them to start fast, and bat big, as they look to get the win they need.

Prediction: RCB to win

SRH vs RCB match facts

  • Date: Thursday, May 18
  • Location: Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium (Hyderabad)
  • Last meeting: May 8, 2022 - RCB won by 67 runs

SRH vs RCB team news

Sunrisers are still only missing Washington Sundar with a hamstring injury but there remains a question over whether they will make more use of Umran Maliknow they are out of play-off contention.

RCB's injury list is extensive, with Will Jacks (muscle), Rajat Patidar (achilles), Reece Topley (shoulder), and David Willey (toe) all out for the season.

SRH vs RCB best bet

  • Pick: RCB to win
  • Odds: 1.68 (Dafabet

Bangalore winning this match is as close to a sure thing as we can get in sports, and at 1.65 the market is a reflection of this.  They're the better team, with the better form, and there is no reason to think this won't continue this time.

SRH vs RCB outside bet

  • Pick: RCB to score over 9.5 runs in first over
  • Odds: 4.00 (Dafabet)

RCB know that even victory may not be enough to push them into the play-offs, and as the race for the top four heats up net run rate (NRR) could be crucial.

We expect Virat Kohli and his team to start fast in this one as they look to pile up the runs, and so backing them to score over 9.5 runs in the first over looks like a good option.
