Boise State vs. Washington pick
The Pacific Northwest is home to one of the best games of Week 1 when the Washington Huskies host the Boise State Broncos on Saturday afternoon.
Washington is a 14-point favorite on BetMGM, but what interests me more is the over/under of 58.5 points. I like the over in this game because of the Huskies offense and the overall quarterback play of both teams.
Michael Penix Jr. leads the way for Washington. Broncos quarterback Taylen Green put fear into opposing defenses by rushing for 586 yards and 10 touchdowns last season, along with passing for 2,042 yards and 14 scores. Green isn’t the only effective runner, as Boise State running backs George Holani and Ashton Jeanty combined to rush for 17 touchdowns and almost 2,000 yards in 2020, so they should be able to get some traction on Washington’s relatively average defense.
