Gunners’ sights on return to winning ways

Arsenal head to West Ham on Sunday as they look to take another step towards their first Premier League title since 2003-04.

Going into this weekend, the Gunners were five points clear of second-placed Manchester City, having played an extra game, after last Sunday’s 2-2 draw at Liverpool.

They opened up a two-goal lead at Anfield and will undoubtedly feel it was two points dropped after struggling to compete in the second half.

Before that draw, Arsenal were riding a seven-game winning streak – and they will have their sights set on all three points at the London Stadium.

West Ham have shown signs of life over recent weeks, winning two of their previous three league outings and losing just one of their last four.

However, going into the weekend, they were still only three points clear of the relegation zone and facing the league leaders is hardly a stroll in the park.

Arsenal, into the home stretch of the season with eight games left to play, cannot afford to drop further points with the Citizens hot on their tail.

Emirates boss Mikel Arteta would have been hugely frustrated after his side let a two-goal lead slip at Anfield and he will be demanding a reaction at the London Stadium.

The Gunners have the best away record in the division, winning 11 of their 15 fixtures with just two defeats, while they are unbeaten in four.

A trip to West Ham offers a great opportunity to add three points to their tally, but getting in and out of the London Stadium with a clean sheet intact looks unlikely.

Arsenal have conceded at least one goal in three of their past five on the road, including at relegation candidates Everton.

West Ham vs Arsenal tip 1: Arsenal to win and both teams to score @ 9/4 with Betfred

Arsenal pack plenty of firepower

Only Manchester City (75) have scored more than the Gunners’ tally of 72 goals in the Premier League this season.

But Arsenal do have the record for most goals registered on the road, netting 30 times, as Arteta’s side have stitched together some lively combination play in the final third.

They have only scored three times or more on five occasions away from the Emirates, but they have achieved that feat in two of their past four in the league.

West Ham vs Arsenal tip 2: Arsenal to score over 2.5 goals @ 2/1 with Betfred

Jesus primed to lead from the front

The return of Gabriel Jesus from long-term injury in March has helped to further strengthen Arsenal in attack. He has started in the previous two fixtures and has chipped in with a total of three goals in those matches.

After joining in the summer from Manchester City, Jesus has netted eight times in 18 Premier League appearances for the north Londoners and he looks a strong candidate to register against West Ham.

The second leg of our #PickYourPunt selection requires over 2.5 goals in the game.

That pick has landed in 20 of Arsenal’s 30 fixtures and they should be able to cross that line on their own if the Hammers do fail to score.

West Ham vs Arsenal Tip 3: Gabriel Jesus to score anytime and over 2.5 goals @ 15/8 with Betfred
