Andreescu beat Sofia Kenin in straight sets on Sunday just two days after completing a comeback against No. 7 Maria Sakkari.

Those impressive wins have her set as a -175 favourite over Alexandrova, who is +138 to win as of Monday morning.

Andreescu breezed past Kenin thanks to a solid serve (seven aces) which had eluded her earlier this tournament.

She was also perfect in three break point situations throughout the match but that’s nothing new considering the Canadian ranks eighth in break point conversion percentage (60.5%), according to WTAtennis.com.

Andreescu has seen success at this event before. She advanced to the finals back in 2021 but was forced to withdraw against Ashleigh Barty after suffering an injury early in the second set.

Alexandrova won her last match in straight sets, though she did go to an epic 18-point tiebreak in one of them.

The Russian has a career record of 87-68 on hard court (57.0%) while Andreescu is a much more impressive 62-29 (70.0%).
