Big Ten teams are playing against Power 5 opponents in the final week of the college football season. The story lines are picking up in our beloved conference. Nebraska’s firing of Scott Frost and Iowa”s putrid offense are the main storylines.
Western Kentucky plays Indiana in the early game of the Big Ten Football Championship Game. The Hoosiers are 2-0, but many believe they should not have beaten Illinois. Western Kentucky has handled FCS Austin Peay and an ugly Hawaii team with relative ease. Indiana has struggled to finish drives recently. The game could turn into a shootout.
UConn is playing at Michigan (-47.5) at 11:00 am CST. Michigan has a game against Maryland next week. The Wolverines are favored by -30.
Oklahoma is favored to beat Nebraska 35-27 in the Big Ten Football Game. Scott Frost was relieved of his duties. He will be replaced. The team has been struggling on defense. They have won close games before. I predict a big win for Oklahoma.
Purdue plays Syracuse in a Big Ten-ACC game on Saturday at 11:00 am CST. Syracuse beat Louisville 31-7 in the first game. Aidan O'Connell and Charlie Jones had a good game against Indiana State 56-0. The Boilermakers lost the season opener to Penn State. The game will be close, but I'm going to back Purdue 35-31. I'll take the points over the moneyline. Next week, Purdue plays Minnesota. Southern Illinois at Northwestern is the only Big Ten-FCS game on Saturday. Northwestern lost to Duke last week. Southern Illinois has not gotten off to the start they'd like to in 2022.
Rutgers is 2-0 and heavily favored in this game. Last year Rutgers won the game 61-14. Temple is 1-1 and lost 30- 0 to Duke last season. The oddsmakers are telling you to not expect the same outcome. I'll give a lean towards a similar outcome as that Temple-Duke game and say Rutgers holds Temple to single digits.
Penn State is playing at Auburn on Saturday. The game is being played at 2:30 pm CST. Penn State won last year's game 28-20 at home. The team is ranked No. 25. Auburn is a home team. They play a ground game. Sean Clifford completed 28 of 32 passes for 280 yards. He was fantastic last time. If you can trust or can stomach the Sean Clifford experience, you should be interested in Penn Staters.
Colorado is 0-2 and they lost to TCU and Air Force. Minnesota is 2-0 and has a lot of potential. They beat New Mexico State and Western Illinois. The Golden Gophers are going to play Michigan State in their Big Ten opener. Colorado and Minnesota played each other last year in Colorado.
New Mexico State at Wisconsin (-37) is a game to watch on Saturday at 2:30 pm CST. Wisconsin is coming off a loss. New Mexico is expected to score less than a field goal.

SMU plays Maryland (-3) at 6:30 pm CST. The game has a game total north of 70. SMU should win. Maryland has chance to gain some respect in the Big Ten with games against Michigan, MSU and Purdue. I will pass on this game, but will definitely be watching.
