Black Ferns flyer poised for rare world double
Selica Winiata has refereed at the Oceania sevens in Fiji for the first time. She is a veteran of 40 rugby tests for Black Ferns and a former Black Ferns Sevens star. Wniata wants to play international 15s, and referee in the women's World Rugby Seven's Series in summer. She thinks she could be the only person to do both. Her ultimate goal is to represent New Zealand at 2021 Rugby World Cup. The try-scoring record-holder in Farah Palmer Cup is the most successful player in rugby history. So far, Waniata's refereing at three seven's tournaments.
