Blue Jays vs. Orioles prop bets: Bet on Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to score a run

The Blue Jays and Orioles open a three-game series in Baltimore on Tuesday night.

The pregame narrative: We’re all in on Chris Bassitt’s hot streak, which has us backing him on a plus-money play today. Also, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. draws an enticing matchup against a pitcher he’s tormented in the past.

Here are our top Blue Jays vs. Orioles prop bets for June 13.

MLB odds as of 10:55 a.m. ET on 06/13/23.

Blue Jays vs. Orioles prop bets

Best Bet: Bassitt 18+ outs, 5+ Ks (+123)

With a unique delivery and a reliance on deception over velocity, Bassitt could reasonably be described as an old school pitcher.

Another old-school trait of his? Working deep into ballgames.

Only 16 big-league pitchers have worked 80-plus innings so far this year, and a dozen of those guys have made 14 starts already. Bassitt (82.0 IP) is one of just four sitting at that threshold in 13 starts.

Bassitt’s most recent outing was a Madduxian anomaly, as he needed just 81 pitches to complete eight innings against Houston. But clearing the six-inning mark is something the righty has made a habit of, and we’re counting on that again tonight.

So far, 10 of Bassitt’s 13 outings have lasted at least six innings, which is what it takes to earn 18 outs. That includes six starts of six-plus innings in his past seven overall.

At -155, we’re not terribly interested in Bassitt over 17.5 outs as a straight wager. But we’ll gladly pair it with over 4.5 strikeouts (-162) for some plus-money action.

Bassitt has gone over that strikeout total in 10 of 13 starts, and another relatively deep outing would certainly help.

Key stat: Bassitt has averaged 6.1 innings per start this year.

Quick pick

Guerrero 1+ runs (-107): Past performance tells us that Vladdy loves batting at Camden Yards, and he loves batting against Orioles starter Dean Kremer.

Tonight, we’re looking for Guerrero to score in Baltimore, where he owns a .952 career OPS in 30 games. In 21 plate appearances against Kremer, Guerrero has reached base eight times — including four home runs.

Right now, his OPS is down to .800 on the season. That’s the lowest it’s been since the first week. But Guerrero has reached base 18 times over his past 10 games, and this is a compelling matchup for him.
