Last season, this column predicted both Ohio State and Alabama to miss the College Football Playoff. The prediction that turned out to be wrong was Wisconsin. Georgia won the national title.
There will be three teams that finish unranked in the AP Top 25 this season. No. 12 Oklahoma State will finish No., 12. Miami will get one more year of mocking. Arkansas will end up at No, 19.
Penn State, Kansas State and UCF are the teams that will start the season unranked but finish ranked. UCf looks loaded in Year 2 under Gus Malzahn.
American Athletic Conference champions are Houston.
Clemson will win the ACC. Kansas State will beat Oklahoma. Ohio State is going to play Minnesota in the Big Ten West Division. Fresno State wins the Mountain West. A first-year coach wins in Pac-12. Alabama will be crowned champion in Southeastern Conference. Appalachian State and Southern Miss will play in Sun Belt Championship.
Nebraska loses its coach, Scott Frost, at the end of the season. Next up for the Cornhuskers is Matt Campbell from Iowa State.
There are six New Year's Bowls this year. Michigan plays USC in the Rose Bowl. Georgia plays Kansas State in Sugar Bowl, and Oklahoma plays Oklahoma in Cotton Bowl and Orange Bowl is North Carolina State vs. Texas A&M.
No. 2 Ohio State will play No. 3 Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl. No 1 Alabama will take on No 4 Oregon in Peach Bowl in New Jersey.
