Brumbies vs Reds Predictions

The Brumbies and Reds have a history of very tightly contest matches, especially in recent seasons. The hosts have however looked solid and generally the home side comes out on top in this fixture.

My best bet is for the Brumbies to win by more than four points.

  • Brumbies have won their last 4 home games against the Reds.
  • Brumbies have won their last 2 matches.
  • Brumbies have covered the -4 handicap in their last 2 matches.

Head to Head

Last season the home side won on each occasion. The Reds beat the Brumbies 21-7 at home while the Brumbies won 16-12 at home earlier in the season.

Brumbies Form

The Brumbies have opened their 2023 Super Rugby campaign with two victories in the opening two rounds. They have consistently been Australia’s top performing franchise over the last three years.

Neither of their opening wins have brought bonus points though. In round one, the Brumbies scratched together a 31-25 win in Sydney against the Waratahs.

Last weekend the Canberra-based outfit was superb, beating the more fancied Blues 25-20 in Melbourne. It was a win against the odds but the same side they lost to in the Super Rugby semi-final in 2022.

Brumbies Injuries & Team News

The Brumbies have made four changes to their side after a fantastic win in round two. Two of those changes see Wallabies half-back pairing of Nic White and Noah Lolesio start for the first time this season.

Reds Form

The Reds have been reasonably consistent over the last two seasons but will be looking for a playoff birth in 2023. Their start to the season has however been a very strange one.

In round one the Reds were humiliated on home soil, losing 47-13 to the Hurricanes. That was a heavy defeat they had to bounce back from.

Which is exactly what the Queensland side did in beating the Force 71-20. After a shocking opening performance the Reds showed all their qualities last Sunday, something they will need to do again this weekend.

Reds Injuries & Team News

The Reds go into this fixture unchanged after a stunning performance last week.
