Cavaliers vs Hornets Prediction

The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Charlotte Hornets collide once again at the Spectrum Center on Tuesday night.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have been in pretty good shape as they’ve won five of their last seven games overall and they will be looking to stay hot after sneaking past the Hornets in a 114-108 road win on Sunday. Darius Garland led the way with 28 points, six rebounds and six assists, Donovan Mitchell added 23 points while Evan Mobley chipped in with 18 points, nine rebounds and three assists. As a team, the Cavaliers shot 47 percent from the field and seven of 27 from the 3-point line as they got off to a poor start and leaked 35 points in the first quarter to fall behind by 16 points, but they kept within striking distance before they dominated the fourth quarter by 33-19 to escape with the narrow win.

Meanwhile, the Charlotte Hornets have been in a rut as they’ve lost five of their last seven games overall and they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after getting beaten by the Cavaliers on Sunday. Terry Rozier led the team with 27 points, six assists and four steals, PJ Washington added 19 points while Gordon Hayward tallied 16 points with six assists. As a team, the Hornets shot 51 percent from the field and 10 of 21 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 35 points in the first quarter to lead for most of the game, before they managed just 19 points in the fourth quarter to allow the Cavaliers to run them down in the end. All five starters finished in double figures in scoring but the bench combined for just 17 points.

Looking at the betting trends, the Cavaliers are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a losing record, 1-6-1 ATS in their last eight road games against a team with a losing home record and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games following an ATS loss. The Hornets are 0-6 ATS in their last six games against a team above .600 and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record.

Head to head, the under is 6-2 in the last eight meetings in Charlotte and the Cavaliers are 8-3 ATS in the last 11 meetings in Charlotte.

The Cleveland Cavaliers could be shorthanded again as Jarrett Allen is listed as day to day, while the Hornets are still missing LaMelo Ball and they are keeping eyes on Kelly Oubre Jr and Mark Williams who are both day to day. The Cavaliers come into this game as the team in better form and they will obviously be confident after beating the Hornets on Sunday. It’s always tough to beat the same team twice in a row in their own building, but the Hornets are much weaker without Ball in the lineup and I think we’re going to see a similar result in this one with the Cavaliers winning again.
