Chargers vs. Titans Predictions, Picks & Odds Week 2: Offensive Struggle in Tennessee

The Los Angeles Chargers and Tennessee Titans each look for their first win of the season as we make our best Chargers-Titans prediction based on the top NFL odds from our best sports betting apps.

The Chargers did a lot right offensively during their season-opening loss to the Miami Dolphins. They ran for 233 yards and three touchdowns, but the defense allowed 466 passing yards.

Meanwhile, Ryan Tannehill threw three interceptions during Week 1, yet the Titans still only suffered a 16-15 loss to the New Orleans Saints. The defense allowed just 69 rushing yards in the game.

Here is our best Chargers-Titans prediction and our NFL picks (odds via our best NFL betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Chargers vs. Titans prediction

While Justin Herbert and the Chargers’ passing attack is generally the focal point of discussion around the team, the offense showed it'll be a run-oriented unit in 2023. Herbert finished Week 1 with 229 passing yards, while the rushing attack combined for a league-best 233 yards.

Austin Ekeler and Joshua Kelley each ran the ball 16 times, and the surprisingly balanced distribution led to serious success. Ekeler is questionable for Sunday’s game, but offensive coordinator Kellen Moore has established he wants his group to be balanced, with or without its lead back.

Meanwhile, the Titans’ offense is forced to focus on the run. Tannehill completed fewer than 50% of his passes in Week 1, and his three interceptions are a huge part of the reason why the Titans lost.

So this game will come down to defense. The Titans boast an excellent run defense, and their secondary is solid. And while the Chargers gave up over 500 yards of offense in Week 1, they were also going against one of the league's best units. They should enjoy much more success against Tannehill and company.

It's debatable whether there will be an upset in this contest, but our Connor Cooper has provided NFL Week 2 upset picks, while Neil Parker is offering NFL Week 2 survivor picks.

Chargers vs. Titans best odds

DraftKings and FanDuel are each offering this total a half-point higher than BetMGM, Caesars, and bet365. And it’s no more expensive to bet the under at either sportsbook.

We’ll give the slight edge to DraftKings, as it's posting a better price for the Titans to cover. Wherever you bet, it's wise to wait longer, as this number will likely go up because of the Chargers' Week 1 result.

Chargers vs. Titans odds

The total opened at 45, and it's stayed there at three of our five best sportsbooks. The Over has been getting 59% of the action thus far. This number will likely continue to go up throughout the week and may finish around 46.5.

As for the spread, the Chargers opened as 3-point favorites, and they've been remaining there throughout the week. Currently, 60% of bettors are backing the Chargers to cover, yet the price is more expensive for the Titans. It seems oddsmakers are going in the opposite direction of the public and favoring the home team. This spread will be 2.5 before long.
