Charles Leclerc expects big threat from Mercedes in 2023 Formula 1 campaign

Charles Leclerc expects Mercedes to challenge in the 2023 Formula 1 season. Ferrari driver does not see another team joining Mercedes and Red Bull as the front-runners. Alpine finished P4 in Constructors' standings in 2022. The team's development programme is bringing improvement across the season as they target further gains into the new campaign. The aim of the Technical Regulations for the 22nd season is to create a more level pack competing in overtaking-friendly challengers.

Mercedes is the current Constructors' Champion. The team is expected to be back to its best in 2023. Formula 1 needs the established midfielders to close the gap. Alpine, McLaren, Aston Martin, or another contender need to show signs of moving closer to the leaders.
