Chelsea head into tonight's Premier League clash looking to improve on their current run which has seen them win just one of their last four matches in all competitions, with that sole win coming against Championship opposition in the FA Cup.
Despite their lack of wins in recent matches, Mauricio Pochettino's side have only lost one of their last six games, a record on which they will be hoping to improve upon in Monday's match, as they bid to climb back into the top half of the table and challenge for the top seven.
The Blues head into tonight 11th in the table, four points behind their opponents in 10th tonight, having player a game fewer, and seven points off the top seven, a position which will likely be enough to reach European football next season, with two games in hand.
The west London side have lost just one of their last 12 matches at Stamford Bridge, dating all the back to October, and will back themselves to extend that run and close the gap between themselves and their opponents to just one point with a win.
Newcastle make the long trip down to the capital city having picked up some form over the last handful of weeks, going unbeaten in seven of their last eight games.
Last weekend's 3-0 win against Wolves leaves Eddie Howe's side in 10th position heading into the weekend, and the Tyneside club will climb into the top seven with a win in the capital tonight.
The Magpies have previously struggled on the road this season but travel to Stamford Bridge having won four of their last five games away from home, albeit with two of those wins coming in the FA Cup against Championship opposition, and including a 4-1 defeat at Arsenal on their last trip to the capital.
Chelsea are winless in their last three league games against the Magpies, but haven't won in any competition at Stamford Bridge in 12 years.
