College Football Bowl Projections 2022: Clemson and Alabama Collide in the Orange Bowl

Last week, we projected the BYU Cougars to face the Utah State Aggies in the Hawaii Bowl. Since the two teams met in late September, it's not possible.

The 2022 College Football Bowl Projections show Clemson and Alabama going head-to-head in the Orange Bowl. The teams that fall outside of the Top 25 are selected based on their current standing within their respective conferences.

No. 2 Ohio State will play No. 3 TCU in the Peach Bowl. The team is ranked second in our CFB Top 25 rankings.

The Buckeyes have never played in a marquee bowl game since its inception in 1968. TCU is currently ranked fourth in the CFP rankings. The Horned Frogs are getting a bump into the Peach Bowl in our college football bowl projections. The defense that allowed 232 rushing yards to Baylor on Saturday might give the Buckeye's nightmares.

Georgia and Michigan are going to play in the Fiesta Bowl. Georgia is expected to be the next team to reach the College Football Playoff rankings.

Georgia is the favorite to play in the Orange Bowl. Michigan is relegated to the fourth spot in these bowl projections. Georgia won the last season's Orangebowl 34-11. The Bulldogs are on a march to a second consecutive national title.

USC beat UCLA in a game that was a Pac-12 cannibalization. They are ranked No. 2 in the CFP rankings. Penn State is the highest-ranked team in Big Ten. The Nittany Lions beat Rutgers.

Coastal Carolina will play Tennessee in the Cotton Bowl. The game was cancelled because of the murder of Lavel Davis Jr., Devin Chandler, and D’Sean Perry. Coastal is the top-ranked Group of Five team. Tennessee is out of CFP consideration and could play in other SEC-affiliated bowls.

Kansas State will play LSU in the Sugar Bowl. Neither Texas nor Oklahoma are in college football's College Football Playoff. It's the first time since 2007 that LSU has been in a Sugarbowl.  JaMarcus Russell was named MVP after leading the Tigers past Notre Dame in 41-14.

Clemson and Alabama are playing in the Orange Bowl. Both teams are in top 10, but their seasons fell short of expectations. The game could be exciting if all the NFL-bound players decide to play. Clemson's defensive front will go to work against Alabama's offensive line.
