Commanders vs. Broncos Predictions, Picks & Odds Week 2

best sports betting apps, as the Washington Commanders visit the Denver Broncos in a Week 2 matchup.

The 2023 Denver Broncos didn’t look much different than the 2022 version in Week 1. The defense looked strong, the offense struggled to score points, and they lost another close game.

While the Washington Commanders secured a 20-16 victory against the Arizona Cardinals, their performance was far from commanding. They only generated 248 total yards and committed three turnovers.

Here is our best Commanders vs. Broncos prediction and our NFL best bets for Week 2, NFL upset picks and NFL player props (odds via our best NFL betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

It’s impossible to justify taking either of these teams against the spread this week. There were times in Week 1 when the Commanders looked like the worst team in football, while the Broncos are 5-13 with Russell Wilson under center.

But we do think there is a lot of value in taking this Under. This number is really low which may discourage bettors, but there is no reason to think that both of these teams are going to score 20 points in this game.

Wilson did throw for 177 yards and two touchdowns in Week 1, but his leading receiver was Samaje Perine. Even with Sean Payton, this is not a team that should be trusted offensively after they put up just 271 total yards against an average Las Vegas Raiders defense.

However, the Broncos’ defense is still great, and they’re poised to have a field day against Sam Howell. Howell threw for just 202 yards against the Cardinals, and he should struggle again in this one. On paper these offenses should be good, but until they prove it on the field, it’s best to just take the Under.

FanDuel is an outlier with the total listed at 39.5. While the extra half-point is nice, we don’t think it’s worth it for the price. Therefore, we suggest placing your wager at any of the other sportsbooks since they’re all offering the same thing.

Get in on the Under sooner rather than later. This number may not move, but if it does, it’s going to go down.

Commanders vs. Broncos odds

The total for this game opened at 39, and it has stayed there at four of our best sports betting apps. Only FanDuel has moved the number at all, and they actually went up a half-point despite 63% of wagers backing the Under. Considering how poorly these offenses played in Week 1, this number will only go down if it moves at all.

The Broncos opened as 3.5-point favorites, and the spread has not moved yet. 54% of wagers back the Broncos to cover, but we doubt this line is going to move much as the week goes on. It could possibly hit the key number of three if bettors back the Commanders as kickoff approaches, but we don’t imagine much support for either side in this one.
