Comment: Controversial 2YO loophole needs urgent review

Les Ross and Mike Crooks have secured nine of the 10 runners in the QTIS 2YO Plate at Eagle Farm on Saturday. The first two emergencies and the first four trial winners have been excluded from the field. Racing Queensland's controversial balloting system gives 2 YOs with prizemoney priority to run over their unraced rivals. The Australian Trainers' Association Queensland representative Cameron Partington said Ross was entitled to take advantage of this situation. He said the situation is known and needs urgent review. It's not a good look for racing in Queensland.
