Coventry and Luton contest the Championship play off final at Wembley on Saturday afternoon in a one off match to decide which team will be in the Premier League next season.

And talkSPORT BET are offering new customers up to £30 in free bets on the Champions League.

Both teams have defied to the odds to reach the Championship play off final and are now just 90 minutes away from the Premier League.

The achievement of these two teams is made greater when realising that these two teams were playing in League Two together just four years ago.

Luton head to Wembley as favourites having finished third in the final Championship table and having seen off Sunderland, the form team heading into the play offs, in the semi final.

Rob Edwards' side had lost just once in the league since mid-January, and went unbeaten in the final 14 games of the season.

The Hatters were forced to come from behind in their semi final to reach Wembley, losing 2-1 in the first leg at the Stadium of Light before turning the tie around with a 2-0 win in the second leg at Kenilworth Road.

The last time the Bedfordshire side were in the top flight was 1992, getting relegated the season before the inaugural Premier League campaign.

Coventry go into Saturday's 'richest match in football' as the underdogs, and are in just their second season back in the Championship following their promotion from League One in 2021.

The Sky Blues, like Luton went on a long unbeaten run to book their place in the play offs, achieving a fifth placed finish despite being as low as 14th in mid February.

A run of one defeat in their last 14 league games saw Mark Robins' side book their play off place on the last day of the season.

The West Midlands side were drawn against Middlesbrough in the semis, and despite drawing 1-1 at home, managed to pull off a 1-0 win at the Riverside Stadium to book their place at home.

Coventry were a permanent fixture in the top flight of English football throughout the 70s, 80s and 90s but dropped out of the Premier League in 2001, even spending a season in League Two before their recent revival.

Both sides have constantly improved on their final league position year on year over recent seasons, Luton doing so since their 11th place finish in League Two in 2017, and Coventry since their 6th place finish in the same division in the following year, which was also the year Robins took charge of the team.

Both previous meetings between the two sides this season ended in stalemates, but Luton will take further confidence into the game with the knowledge that they're unbeaten in their last nine games against their fellow play off finalists.
