Cubs odds, picks, predictions: Best bet for Cubs vs Angels (June 7)
The Cubs can’t buy a win recently. Every game has been disastrous, including Tuesday’s 7-4 loss.
So, naturally, we have Cubs vs. Angels predictions for Tuesday’s game.
Unfortunately, I think Chicago’s struggles continue today.

Cubs starting pitcher Jameson Taillon is not a guy you want to place your hard-earned money with.
He’s got a double-digit Barrel Rate, an ERA north of 7.00 and an expected ERA north of 5.00. He pitched well against the Padres last week but still has an 8.61 ERA since May 1.
Angels starting pitcher Jaime Barria likely profiles better as a reliever, but he’s made back-to-back quality starts against the White Sox (5 IP, 1 ER, 6 K, 3 BB) and Red Sox (5 IP, 0 ER, 6 K, 0 BB). We can probably trust him to turn a lineup over at least once.
Therefore, I’ll be betting on the Angels in the first half.
Betting on Barria and against Taillon is easy, and it becomes easier when you look at the offensive splits over the past month. Since May 7, the Angels have been a top-10 offense against right-handed pitching by OPS (.757) and wRC+ (108), while the Cubs are a bottom-five offense in the split by both stats (.651 OPS, 82 wRC+).
Zoom in even closer, and you’ll see the Cubs have been really struggling lately, boasting MLB’s worst OPS (.536) and wRC+ (53) against the right side over the past two weeks.
It’s easy to imagine the Halos sprinting out to an early lead in this one.
But I don’t want to mess with the later innings, given the Angels used most of their high-leverage relief arms yesterday.
So, I’ll stick with Barria and the Angels on the F5 ML, hoping Taillon performs to his usual lackluster level.
